Mr Wu Taiwanese Restaurant

The other day, I was watching TV and saw the show talking about this Taiwanese Restaurant - Mr Wu that has spread it's wing in Malaysia. It was run by a couple, both Taiwanese. The menu looks pretty good and quite a lot of variety to choose from.

And they recently opened near to the area that I stay in - In The Landmark, Bukit Tinggi Klang. So, I decided to visit and try their food out.

I have tried a few Taiwanese food before and so far, I enjoy the food in Manjoe the most. The taste is more to my liking.

So we ordered a few of their dishes - Oyster Mee Suah, Teriyaki Chicken Rice with Omelette, a plate of fried chicken bites and a Bento of Taiwanese chicken chop with cheese sauce.

The Oyster Mee Suah has about 4 oysters in them. It was a little too raw for me, but still fresh. They are not too big, considered medium size oysters. The soup is not bad. The right thickness. It is served with a dollop of garlic paste. Very Taiwanese style indeed. However, I don't really like the Mee Suah. The Mee Suah here has been fried before, so it holds the texture and shape very well, but the downside of it to me is it is not smooth. I prefer the Oyster Mee Suah in Shih Lin 石林 with unfried Mee suah. The Mee Suah here cost RM19.90. Quite expensive in my opinion.

The Teriyaki rice with Omelette that my daughter order is too sweet on the sauce. The Omelette is smooth enough. It cost RM23+, which is also pretty expensive as it is not a Bento.

My son ordered the Bento with Taiwanese Chicken Chop with cheese sauce. It comes with a few condiments - a fried pumpkin ball which is quite good in taste and texture, a Taiwanese kimchi cabbage - crunchy, but super sweet. There is also a stuffed fishcake with some sauce which is also very sweet. On the rice, there are braised egg, braised tofu, Taiwanese sausage slices and minced meat gravy which are also sweet. At RM25+ for this portion, it is reasonable.

We have to applaud their Taiwanese Fried chicken chop / chicken bites. They use chicken breast part but it is super tender and flavorful. It has robust taste of 椒盐 and 五香粉。 No frozen taste too - which I am very particular about, when I eat chicken. Frozen and unfresh chicken really turn me off.

The drinks are pretty decent in size and very rich in taste. They have tea based drinks and also milk shakes etc. Many customers were seen ordering yam milk shakes. We ordered the green tea and black tea based drinks. At RM9.90 each, I think it is reasonable with the quality and size.

My ratings of this restaurant would be:

Parking: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Easy to get parking here since it is located in a building.

Cleanliness: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (this branch is still very new, hence clean and orderly)

Food quality: 🌟 🌟 Probably it is nice for Taiwanese since I heard many boast about their food being very close to taste of home. But to me, it is just too sweet.

Portion: 🌟🌟🌟 Portion is consider sufficient for a one person meal. But smaller compared to Manjoe's.

Price: 🌟🌟 Pretty expensive to me.

Will I come back again? Maybe only for the Taiwanese Fried Chicken.
